LIFE & LOSS
Sessions on grief
Wednesday December 2nd NEWConnective starts new sessions on grief in the Life & Loss program.
Death is part of life, they say. But when it is part of your life, it can have a massive impact. Grief can be so overwhelming that it may seem like your whole world collapses and life is stripped of all shine. Your concentration disappears, which influences your study results, the conversations you have and relationships in general. At first, people are caring and involved, but after a while it may seem as if no one holds space for your grief any longer. As if it were just time to move on.
‘A word to the wise… (is sufficient)’
In this private group you will meet fellow students who have experienced a loss as well. You listen to each other’s stories and just might recognize the pain, the fathomless sadness, the anger or fear. You hang out (online) together for a while, sharing ups & downs, supporting each other and having fun (that too!).
Is this the place for me, you ask?
Let’s just give it a go. Grieving isn’t something you have to do on your own. Neither are you alone in it (although it might feel that way). These sessions on grief are open to any student, regardless of background or belief. Prior to the start, we hold a short pre-interview with each one of you to get to know you better.
Start: December 2nd
Following dates: December 9, 16 | January 6, 13, 27 | February 3, 10, 17
Time: 2.45 pm – 5 pm
Please note that once started, the group will be closed for other participants.
Riekje van Osnabrugge (student chaplain)
Niki van Houten (humanistic counselor)
